CNC Action Fund Launches California Calls Campaign Focused on School Funding and Voting Rights

The CNC AF phone banking team will urge voters to step into this election, stand up for their families by voting YES on Proposition 3 and NO on Proposition 39

CENTRAL VALLEY, CALIFORNIA—Today, Communities for a New California Action Fund (CNC AF) launched California Calls, a ballot-measure advocacy campaign focused on school funding and voting rights. The campaign will inform Central Valley residents about CNC Action Fund’s positions on Proposition 3 and Proposition 39 and what these measures could mean for families and neighborhoods across the region. These phone banking efforts are in collaboration with The California Calls Action Fund, which organizes civic participation and democratic protection campaigns.

Through California Calls, phone bankers will reach voters directly with a clear message: take a stand for our families by voting YES on Proposition 3 and NO on Proposition 39.

“We’ve spent 15 years showing families how democracy can work for them, because power should not and does not belong to a select few,” said CNC AF Field Director Samantha Valadez. “Our work is about transforming our neighborhoods into places where all of our families can thrive. CNC AF’s support for Proposition 3 and opposition to Proposition 39 reflects that fight: these votes center the needs and voices of working families who deserve a real say in the public decisions impacting their lives.”

Vote YES on Proposition 3

Prop 3 helps schools and community colleges keep the funding they need by asking the wealthiest 2% of Californians to continue to pay their fair share, so every student can get an education that leads to a good-paying job.

Vote NO on Proposition 39

Prop 39 is a scam paid for by billionaires and BIG corporations to make it hard for eligible Californians to vote so they can usher in exploitative policies. They get richer off of working class families by keeping prices high and wages low.

By reaching voters neighbor to neighbor, the campaign will connect the issues on the ballot to the everyday concerns of families across the region.

CNC AF also has a phone banking program in California’s 22nd Congressional District, making calls in support of candidate Randy Villegas. The organization aims to reach at least 200,000 residents with information about the candidates’ oppositional positions on housing, healthcare, and other issues affecting household budgets, including food and gas prices.

Communities for a New California Action Fund is building a new power in the San Joaquin, Central, and Imperial valleys by inspiring working-class Californians to engage, activate, and fight for social change in their communities. With the help of staff and volunteers from the very communities we serve, CNC AF organizes and educates residents about policy issues that impact our rural families and organizes to improve our neighborhoods.
